Prepress Services

The Prepress Department offers a wide range of preprint services as: scanning, digital processing of images, color separation, exposition, etc.

The main file formats we work with are TIFF, EPS, PDF, CDR. We also accept Microsoft Word, Excel or PowerPoint files, which we transform in suitable format, which guarantee quality printing. It is desirable all submitted fonts to be in curves.

The required resolution for raster images is:

• A4 format: 250 - 350 dpi resolution. At least 300 dpi is required if the files include texts;
• Posters (about 300/400 mm ): 200 - 250 dpi recommended resolution;
• A3 format: the same as for A4 format if the document will be observed from a short distance.

The colors of all vector images should be provided in CMYK or Pantone Formula Guide formats.

The following recommendations should be followed to avoid potential problems with the printing:

• Avoid using the transparence effect in Corel DRAW;
• Do not convert raster images in Corel DRAW;
• Convert Drop Shadows to CMYK bitmaps together with the elements under Drop Shadows. This effect adds black color and subtracts color from the object under it. That is why the color or Drop Shadows should be set as a mixture of cyan, magenta, yellow and black color.
